New Coastal Limited Edition Prints
Share
A new collection of limited edition art prints is now available from Australian artist Jennifer Bell, featuring five selected artworks inspired by water, movement and the coast - Quiet Sea, Salt Air, Water Ripples, Gentle Tides and Seafoam Shift.
Created from original artworks, the collection explores the constantly changing patterns of the sea, from gentle ripples and reflected light to shifting colour, tides and seafoam.
Water has been a recurring source of inspiration throughout Jennifer Bell’s practice. Rather than depicting a particular beach or landscape, these works explore the experience of being surrounded by water: its movement and rhythm, the patterns that form and disappear across its surface, and the way colour and light continually shift.
From Original Artwork to Limited Edition Art Print
Pattern and repetition sit at the heart of Jennifer’s work, often emerging from observations of the natural world. Water is particularly fascinating because its patterns never remain still. Ripples intersect, light breaks across the surface and repeated shapes appear momentarily before changing again.
Unlike open edition reproductions, these prints are produced in limited numbers. Once an edition has sold out, no further prints will be produced in that edition.
Water Ripples
Water Ripples (shown above) focuses more closely on the intricate patterns created across the surface of water.
Repeated forms build into a field of movement, echoing the way ripples overlap and interrupt one another as light moves across them. Viewed from a distance, the pattern becomes a larger flowing surface; up close, the individual marks and subtle variations begin to emerge.
Quiet Sea
Quiet Sea captures the calmer rhythms of the ocean, where subtle shifts of colour and repeated marks create a sense of gentle movement across the surface.
There is a meditative quality to the work, but the pattern is never completely still. Small variations within the repeated forms reflect the constant movement found even on the quietest stretch of water.
Salt Air
Inspired by the colours and atmosphere of the coast, Salt Air brings together layered pattern and colour to evoke the feeling of being beside the sea.
Rather than representing a particular place, the work draws on the sensory experience of the coast - water, light, movement and the changing colours where sea and sky meet.
Gentle Tides
In Gentle Tides, repetition creates a quiet sense of rhythm inspired by the continual movement of the sea.
The work reflects an ongoing interest in how simple repeated marks can accumulate into something much more complex - much like the patterns created by waves, tides and currents in the natural world.
Seafoam Shift
Seafoam Shift takes its inspiration from the fleeting patterns that appear where water breaks and moves - shapes that form, dissolve and reform almost immediately.
Layers of colour and repeated detail create a surface that appears to shift as it is viewed, capturing something of the energy and unpredictability of moving water.
Limited Edition Framed Art Prints Now Available
The new collection is available as unframed fine art prints, professionally framed prints and canvas prints, making it easy to choose the format that best suits your space.
The framed option arrives finished and ready to hang, while unframed prints are ideal for collectors who prefer to select their own framing.
Together, Quiet Sea, Salt Air, Water Ripples, Gentle Tides and Seafoam Shift form a cohesive collection connected by water, pattern and movement. They can be displayed individually as statement artworks or combined to create a coordinated group.
Limited edition prints are available to order online, with shipping available throughout Australia and internationally.
