Between the lines
Between the lines
Pattern and beauty can be found in everyday things. This large abstract painting was inspired by simple sheets of cardboard stacked up showing the little ripples of the corrugation, highlighting that beauty exists in the imperfect and ordinary.
The painting can be hung portrait or landscape, hanging horizontally the lines become reminiscent of trees like scribbly gum.
With a background of dark grey mixed with washes of cyan ink the hints of blue show through, when light hits the work it creates a purple hue.
