Infinity Ocean III – Large Abstract Ocean-Inspired Painting in Blue

Infinity Ocean III is a dynamic exploration of the ocean’s mesmerising depth and rhythm. Inspired by the vivid beauty of coral reefs and the endless motion of water, this large-scale abstract painting combines deep blues and brushy textures to evoke a sense of immersive, tidal movement. Unlike earlier pieces in the series, this work embraces a more painterly approach—intentionally visible brushstrokes give it richness and vitality, creating a layered surface that invites closer contemplation.

The canvas is filled with interlocking infinity symbols, a motif that runs throughout much of my practice, symbolising connection, fluidity, and the idea of endless cycles in nature. These repeating shapes ripple across the surface like currents beneath the waves—subtle, yet powerful. This evolution in style maintains the intricate mark-making I’m known for while introducing a looser, more expressive energy.

The title reflects both the infinite forms found in oceanic environments and the repeated symbol used during the work’s creation.
