Road through the desert fairy circles
Road through the desert fairy circles
In researching aerial images of the Australian outback, the artist discovered unusual patterns in the desert. These patterns consisted of circles of regularly spaced patches of bare earth scattered throughout the vegetation, known as ‘fairy circles.’ These formations are quite rare and are most noticeable when viewed from above. Inspired by this phenomenon, the artist created a piece depicting a road cutting through the Pilbara region, surrounded by the enchanting fairy circles. The painting captures the vibrant colours and intricate patterns of these natural formations, blending red, green and purple hues to evoke the mesmerising beauty of the outback from an aerial perspective.
