‘Wave Study IV’ is a richly layered abstract artwork inspired by the rhythms and textures of the sea. With its deep blue surface and delicate, repeated dashes, this piece captures the flickering, ever-shifting nature of water — from tidal currents to surface ripples.
The composition flows with undulating bands of mark-making, evoking the movement of waves in a quiet, meditative way. Each small stroke builds upon the last, creating a tactile sense of rhythm and energy. Subtle yet intricate, this work is part of Jennifer Bell’s ongoing “Wave Study” series, where repetition and pattern form the foundation of her response to the natural world and her own experience with visual snow.
Made with acrylic and ink on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, this artwork is both visually impactful and environmentally conscious. The depth of blue is grounding, while the fine white marks introduce lightness and motion — perfect for coastal interiors, moody minimalist styling, or serene study spaces.
