Woven Muse II Study – Brown and White Patterned Portrait

This woven artwork continues the Woven Muses series, exploring portraiture, perception and the human impulse to find rhythm and beauty in pattern.

A quietly composed female portrait, created through photography and collage, is interlaced with recycled paper featuring the same brown and white design as her dress. The weaving process distorts and fragments the image, transforming it into something both familiar and elusive.

As the viewer’s eye moves across the surface, the portrait appears to shift in and out of focus - a subtle play between order and disruption, surface and depth. The resulting image feels both delicate and complex.
